Watch the complete video from our Open Space Dialogues #4: From New Perspectives to Action, an evening of provocative presentations and discussions created by NY4P and WXY architecture + urban design, and hosted by New York Law School. Following events focusing on open space value, design, development, policy, and financing, the panel featured leading parks practitioners, decision-makers, activists, and stakeholders
Panelists reflected on the interrelated themes of the series and turned their focus to open space and rezonings. By sharing recent work and expertise, or focusing on our case study, Southern Boulevard, they answered many questions and raised some new ones regarding some of the most pressing issues facing our city’s open spaces.
The event featured presentations from Joe Mayock, Executive Director of Open Space Alliance for North Brooklyn, Deborah Marton, Executive Director of New York Restoration Project, and Lucy Robson, Director of Research and Planning at NY4P. We then heard responses from Mychal Johnson, Co-founding Member of South Bronx Unite and Tawkiyah Jordan, Senior Planner at the New York City Department of City Planning.
The evening also featured a special screening of the trailer for "75 Park: 1 of the 35" by Bronx-based documentarian Everette Hamlette.
