STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- The Staten Island Chamber of Commerce rounded up a group of volunteers to clean up and beautify downtown Staten Island.
The city Parks Department led the clean up, which included cleaning and mulching tree pits, as well as planting daffodil bulbs that will bloom this spring.
The event was part of New York City's Neighborhood 360 program aimed at revitalizing the Bay Street commercial corridor.
The daffodil bulbs were provided by New Yorkers 4 Parks, as part of their Daffodil Project, a living memorial to September 11.
