New Yorkers for Parks Launches Virtual Hub to Connect Corporate Groups with Park Volunteer Opportunities Across NYC
The hub will increase access, visibility of volunteer opportunities to maintain City parks
April 28, 2021 (New York, NY) – New Yorkers for Parks, the only independent non-profit championing quality open space for all New Yorkers, announced its virtual hub to connect corporate groups with volunteer opportunities at parks across New York City.
“Our corporate partnerships are integral to keeping New York City’s parks clean and safe for everyone to use,” said Adam Ganser, Executive Director of New Yorkers for Parks. “The launch of the virtual hub will help us not only increase our volunteers but spread awareness of what needs to be done to transform our current parks system.”
The virtual hub will provide a central location to increase access and visibility of volunteer opportunities in all five boroughs. New York City’s parks have provided critical open space for safe recreation and relaxation throughout the pandemic. However, after a year of unprecedented use and the City disinvesting $80 million in the Parks Department, parks now rely on community support for maintenance and funding.
Corporate volunteer projects supply critical funds and labor to keep parks green, while also providing rewarding team building experiences for employees. These corporate programs vary in offerings, size and project type.
